Welcome 2021

Welcome 2021

This time last year I am sure many of you were excited for a new year, a new decade and all the stuff you had planned or hoped for like I was. Then 2020 took a turn a few months in and changed the rest of the year. Last year was not what anyone expected and there was a lot of loss, pain, fear and anger happening in this world. We felt these emotions too, but there were good things that came out of 2020 and that is what I want to bring forward into the new year. This includes more time together as a little family, a slower pace of life, spending time in nature and appreciating what we have and who we have in our lives.

We are starting 2021 with our last day of being in self-isolation after Evie tested positive for Covid-19 in December. I am happy to report no one else got sick and Evie did not show any other symptoms. I am so thankful that was the case and it was all I hoped for during these weeks. Knowing tomorrow we are allowed to leave our house after 26 days of staying home has me so excited though! I never thought I would miss the freedom to go for a walk around the block so badly and will not take that for granted (that and coffee from the drive thru, Tim’s, I’m coming tomorrow). If you are neighbour, you will be seeing us out a lot more soon!

This Christmas looked different for us (as I’m sure many can relate) but it was still enjoyable. The kids were beyond excited for Santa and Christmas! We were able to see all our family through Zoom and some loved ones dropped off delicious meals and treats for us to enjoy over the holidays. We can’t wait to see them all in person when the time comes. Our quarantine is ending during a province wide lock down as cases of Covid-19 continue to rise. Next week school will be virtual for a week but that could be extended. 2021 will still have us doing much of what we did in 2020 but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we will all get through this and come out stronger from it. We are in this together and though times are still tough, know you are not alone.

We hope you and yours found some calm and happiness over the holiday season and we want to thank you for being on this journey with us and for all your support! We look forward to learning, connecting and sharing more. Our family has exciting things to look forward to this year and we really hope 2021 allows us to spend WAY more time with friends and family, we love and miss you all!!!

From our family to you, Happy New Year and Welcome 2021!
