No matter how many ways we could say thank you, it will never be enough to express how grateful we are for everyone’s support!

We launched our fundraising campaign officially on October 23, 2017.   It was really hard to make that GoFundMe page public because it was so personal.  So glad we did because today we are amazed to announce in only a few short months we have achieved our fundraising goal!!! When I say WE, I mean every single person who has shared our story, made a monetary donation, donated a raffle item, and attended an event. WE is hundreds of people.

Our goal was $120,000 to cover all the costs associated with Evelyn’s surgery and rehab for the first year.  Due to the pace of everyone’s overwhelming generosity we were able go on the cancellation list and able to secure an earlier surgery date.  This will allow Evelyn the chance to prevent future deterioration from growth spurts and to be much farther along in her recovery before she starts school this fall.  Being able to go so much earlier is such a blessing.  We leave in 1 month today for St. Louis, 4 months earlier than we originally thought.  This is HUGE!

After realizing we hit our goal, we really thought hard about whether or not we should move forward with our dance in May.  Our dance on May 12 will be two months after Evelyn has SDR.  This event was to help generate funds but also to CELEBRATE!  To show off Evie’s new dancing legs.  To come together.  To have a fun.  To see how Evie is doing and for us to say our thanks in person.

We have decided to continue to have the event as many people have already put their efforts, time and talents into it and are looking forward to a fun night.  We have also decided that any funds raised from our campaign over and above what we end up requiring will be paid forward to others who are on the same SDR journey.

Thank you for being part of Evelyn’s journey!   As it continues we know she has so many people cheering her on and supporting our family!  THANK YOU again from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support!  We never thought we would reach this goal as quickly as we did and we will be eternally grateful.
