Motivational Monday – Her Hero

Motivational Monday – Her Hero

For those who follow Evie’s Instagram account (being_e_cp), you may notice I post the odd “Motivational Monday.”  The quotes I share tend to be related to something on my mind.  I thought I would share some of these posts on the blog and perhaps add some new ones.  Here is the first!

She needed a hero, so that’s what she became…

I am always worried about Evie and how things are going to be once she goes to school or out on her own. Sometimes as a parent I think it is easy to think worst case scenario. Something happened a few days ago that not only made me proud of Evie but also a wee less worried. Evie was playing at the park with another girl her age. They hit it off and sat on top of the slides and giggled and talked about princesses.

After going down the slide the girl noticed Evie’s bigger shoes and asked what she was wearing underneath. Evie said nothing at first but then said “My super shoes.” The little girl looked confused and I almost went over to explain as I witnessed Evie’s hesitation but then Evie said “They help me walk. ” The little girl was like “Okay” and off they went to play some more. I told my bff this story and she said it was amazing Evie was advocating for herself and explaining to someone about herself as she sees things. She is totally right! It is amazing and I was so proud that at a young age Evie was advocating for herself and I hope she never stops.

Mommy shouldn’t worry so much, Evie can and will be her own hero!!
