Day 24 & Day 25 – Happy Easter
Happy Easter! We hope you all enjoyed this weekend with those you love and that the Easter Bunny found you 🙂
It was a fairly low-key weekend for our family as we are all pretty tired. Yesterday we drove around St. Louis and drove down the Delmar Loop. We then ended up at the Science Centre again as Evie requested another visit. We shouldn’t have stayed as late as we did but we wanted to check out their Discovery Room (consists of a 45 minute session in a room with different stations to explore and you get free tickets with a membership). We also checked out a few new areas including where the kids learned about earthquakes, electricity and dinosaurs (both kids were scared of the T-rex).
This morning was exciting as the Easter Bunny found us in St. Louis! Evelyn was thrilled to go on an egg hunt. It was Wesley’s first year actually looking for eggs and he was happy to help fill the basket Oma bought them. The Easter Bunny hid eggs, brought them books, crafts and of course chocolate. Ev did a great job finding eggs and practiced some squatting as she picked them up (though it is still difficult/she isn’t comfortable bending down yet).
After the hunt we headed downstairs for a delicious breakfast. The rest of the day consisted of stories, dance parties, tv shows and a walk. We wanted to get some fresh air but within 10 minutes of going out in our winter gear (yes it got cold again), Evie stepped in a huge pile of doggie doodoo. It was gross and stinky but good news is she got a lot of one legged standing in as we tried to get her to clean off her shoe on grass and gravel. Shortly after that the freezing rain started to pelt us. We made our way back to the hotel for a tasty dinner that Oma made and the kids were off to bed.
Only two more nights here in St. Louis before we head home. Hope you had an egg-cellent weekend!
